The OPG?
Yes, the Official Poker Guide. Remember it! This website is made up of two things: guides and reviews. The guides are boring, yet packed with info. On the left column of every page are guides addressing specific aspects of the game from buying in to bluffing. With time, they will be expanded and livened up. Above the guides are reviews, clearly marked as "Reviews~". At completion, we will maintain up-to-date reviews of popular poker websites, magazines, software, and media. They are here to provide clear, unbiased information to our viewers.
The Purpose of the OPG...
The entire purpose of this site is very simple: to give you honest, unbiased, useful information. In other words, the purpose of the site is to give you a well-organized, easy-to-follow, accurate source of information on any and every question about poker you may have. It is our hope that when you are not sure about something, you can come to the OPG and find the answer to it or email us at Support@theopg.org.
Where Did This Information Come From?
Ever since the first poker books were written (with a few exceptions), most of the words in these books were useless information. We do not want you to waste your time by reading useless information that could have been condensed from a 250-page book to a 25-page book. Because of that, we, here at the OPG, have decided to make it a priority from then on to write down everything (yes, everything) useful from the countless books, movies, shows, etc. that we had studied, in order to one day be able to give poker players what we always wanted. We watched poker movies over and over again until we were satisfied that we had taken every bit of useful information from that movie and then we moved on to the next one. We read poker books, by numerous authors and took the useful information so we can organize it on this site. We also obtain different pieces of knowledge that we pick up constantly from the pros while watching them. So all of the information on this site is not just the opinion of a sole poker player, but instead it is the combined knowledge of many professional poker players. In other words, this site is like a book that has taken information (only useful information) from dozens of other sources of poker books, movies, etc. and combined it all to form one (this site). All of this information, we have finally organized and bought together to share with the poker community of today, you, in one website!
